how to slice shallots easily
I use to hate slicing shallots until I discovered this it to doing it. I no longer have to deal with all those pesky shallot layers unraveling on me and it taking so much more time than I would have liked.
You start by cutting off the bulb end of the shallot.
TIP: Leave the root end alone as it keeps all the layers together while you’re slicing.
Slice it in half.
Remove the skin and lay it, cut side down, on a cutting board.
Now slice to desired size.
